The 32-year-old scored Torino's goal in a 4-1 trouncing at the hands of Roma, but that did not stop his coach from a harsh verbal attack via the media

After coming off the bench to score a consolation goal for Torino in their 4-1 defeat to Roma, Maxi Lopez must have been confident of escaping a tirade from his coach. Instead, though, the 32-year-old was singled out by Sinisa Mihajlovic, who called him a "f*****g dog" who has "wasted a year".

Lucas Perez warrants regular run for Arsenal

The Argentine has been limited to nine appearances in the league this season, starting just one game. He was brought on for the final 10 minutes against Luciano Spalletti's men, finding the net within five.

But while Mihajlovic knows former Barcelona and Catania striker Lopez has talent, he feels he has wasted some of it by being overweight.

"The qualities of Maxi have never been questioned," Mihajlovic told reporters. "I'm happy with his goal, but I am also angry:

"If we had him a few weeks ago in these conditions, he could make us comfortable. As soon as he went from 99 kilos down to 94.5, he scored.

"He first should be angry with himself: he has thrown away a year like this, the fucking dog."

The Serbian coach was confused by the result itself, as he thought Joe Hart was relatively untroubled despite the high score.

Guardiola: Bielsa the best in the world

"We knew it would be tough," he added. "Roma have won every game at home this season and they are second for a reason. We have to keep going on our path.

“It’s strange, we conceded four goals from distance. Joe Hart didn’t make a save and yet he conceded four goals. There was nothing he could do on those finishes.”
