Kenya has been dealt a huge blow following the suspension of Harambee Stars offensive midfielder Ayub Timbe by Caf

Harambee Stars winger Ayub Timbe has confirmed that he will not appeal against a ban slapped on him by Caf.

Timbe, who plays professional football in China, was handed a three match ban and fined USD10, 000 by the African body following an incident that occurred after Harambee Stars match against Sierra Leone, away.

The disappointed Kenyan player has now said he will not appeal against the verdict. “I am disappointed with the verdict, which basically means that I won’t play in the upcoming three Afcon qualifiers.

“As a player, I have always endeavored to adhere to the laws of the game, both off and on the pitch and it pains me to be denied the chance to represent my country, especially at this crucial period when we are trying to qualify for the 2019 Afcon.

“That notwithstanding is that however, much I don’t agree with the verdict, I respect the decision by Caf and won’t be appealing against it.”

The news means that Timbe will now miss Harambee Stars Afcon fixtures against Ghana and the two-legged matches against Ethiopia.
