Betting firm SportPesa have hinted that they could resume sponsoring Kenyan giants Gor Mahia and AFC Leopards.
A top official with K’Ogalo has confirmed to Goal that SportPesa have agreed to return as sponsors and that new deals will be made public on Monday (April 23).
“SportPesa are willing to come back and will announce the same on Monday,” the source told Goal but without elaborating whether it will be an improved deal or not.
SportPesa have also confirmed that they will host a major press conference on Monday to be attended by Sports Permanent Secretary Peter Kaberia.
“You are invited to a major press conference on Monday (April 23) at 10.00am at the Ministry of Sports and Heritage, Kencom House, 2nd floor,” confirmed the invite obtained by Goal.
Also expected to attend the press conference is Football Kenya Federation President Nick Mwendwa, Gor Mahia chairman Ambrose Rachier and AFC Leopards boss Daniel Mule.
SportPesa walked out of the two clubs in January after they stopped sponsoring sports activities in the country citing government move to tax them 35%.
