The Wales international has been called up to the squad despite the former Manchester United star failing to see a number of his matches

Wales manager Ryan Giggs admits that he does not watch Gareth Bale play for Real Madrid, as he does not have a subscription for La Liga's rights holders, Eleven Sports.

Bale has been attempting to fill the void left by Cristiano Ronaldo at Los Blancos this season, but viewers in the United Kingdom have not been able to watch him play on television.

Eleven Sports won the rights to the Spanish top-flight ater a pitched auction, but they have yet to find a television channel, instead offering an online service, akin to streaming giant Netflix, where viewers can pay to watch Real Madrid live.

Giggs, though, is not one of those to have a subscription, and has thus missed out on Real's travails thus far this season; Julen Lopetegui has been sacked after a dismal start to the campaign, while Bale was whistled by the Bernabeu crowd during his substitution against Valladolid at the weekend.

Nevertheless, he has returned to his country's squad for the upcoming games against Denmark and Albania.

'I've not seen many of his games," Giggs told a press conference when asked of Bale's form.

"They are not on Sky. They are on Eleven Sports - I haven't got that!"

Eleven Sports have, naturally, offered Giggs a subscription after his words, insisting that, like the meme, they will "give it Giggsy until the end of the season".

Bale scored in his first three La Liga appearances in 2018-19, but has not hit the back of the net since September, in a 3-0 Champions League victory over Roma.

He has also failed to complete 90 minutes in the league since September 26, when Real lost 3-0 to Sevilla.

For Wales, however, he remains the key man and has scored four goals in his last four outings - netting once against the Republic of Ireland and scoring a hat-trick versus China in a friendly.
