Ghana Premier League suspension not a worry, says AshGold's Owusu

Ashanti Gold midfielder Prince Owusu insists that the indefinite suspension placed on Ghana Premier League by government has not affected him in any way.

All football related activities have been halted after undercover journalist Anas Aremeyaw Anas exposed the rot in football in the country through the premiering of his latest investigative work titled 'Number 12'.

It's now unclear when the second half of the top-flight season will resume.

“The suspension of Ghana Premier League has not affected me. I have been training to keep my form and my motive for the season," Owusu told Footballmadeinghana.

“I am focusing on my personal training although we are all still in the house and don't know when the league will resume.

“Personally, the season has not been like what I expected but it hasn't been terrible also in my view, I am hoping and praying that the second round will be better for me when everything is settled between Ghana FA and government,” he added.

A three-man Fifa delegation met representatives of Ghana government on Friday to deliberate on how to adopt interim measures which will allow the continuation of football in the country.
