Fosa Juniors Coach gutted at draw over AFC Leopards

Fosa Juniors head coach Andre Watzel says his side was unfortunate to draw against AFC Leopards in the Caf Confederation Cup match played at Bukhungu Stadium, Kakamega.

Despite having an upper hand following the one-all draw away, Watzel was not impressed by the draw, but remains optimistic that his side will progress to the next round.

"This is a match we could have won by at least three goals, but we did not take our chances. But again we were playing away, so we are okay with a draw, meaning we have a chance of getting to the second round.

"It is not done yet. AFC Leopards will come back fighting because they also want to progress to the next stage. We have to prepare well."

Fosa Juniors' Captain, Rado Mbalosoa canceled out Yusuf Mainge's third-minute opener.

AFC Leopards Coach Robert Matano, on the other hand, was left fuming at his payer’s inability to collect maximum points at home.

“The goal we conceded was just like the one against Posta Rangers, it was more or the same. The defense failed to clear the ball and we paid the price.

“We were down in almost every department, there was no urgency whatsoever. The midfield also let us down and there was no urgency in the striking area. We will make changes in the second leg because we have to get results to push us to the next round.”

AFC Leopards will travel to Antananarivo for the return leg on February 20.
