Yakubu appeared for Homeboyz in a 0-0 draw against his former side in a friendly match held on Tuesday at Bukhungu stadium.
His presence on the pitch raised eyebrows with some quarters concluding that he has crossed to Bukhungu on a permanent deal after he was released by Leopards a few days ago.
“We have not signed Ramadhan Yakubu. He came for trials and we are still monitoring him. He is among the many players, who are here for trials,” Kakamega Homeboyz chairman Cleophas Shimanyula told Goal.
Other new faces at Homeboyz are Kennedy Rono, formerly with relegated Muhoroni Youth and Michael Apudo of Bandari.
Kakamega Homeboyz finished fifth in the just ended-Kenyan Premier League season.
