Feyenoord prodigy Lateef Omidiji Jr. gets Nigeria U15 call-up

Lateef Omidiji Jr. has been invited to the Nigeria U15 team ahead of this year’s African Youth Games billed for Algeria in July.

The Feyenoord whiz who has played for the United States at the U14, U15 & U16 levels will join 28 players in camp as the country begins preparations for their title defence.

Coach Danladi Nasidi’s boys are expected to report at the Nigerlink Hotel, Abuja on Monday as they finetune strategies for the third edition of the championship which holds between July 17 – 27, 2018.

An elated Omidiji Jr. is delighted with the invitation and has vowed to do everything possible to justify his inclusion.

“Getting an invite to play for Nigeria is a dream and I am very prepared,” he told Goal.

“I’ve always been ready to play for the country so I’m looking forward to meeting up with my teammates and coaches as well as contributing my part to the success of the team.

“I want to use this medium to thank the senior players who have always encouraged me as well as the Nigeria Football Federation.
