Singapore’s F17 Academy which focuses on developing future talents of Singapore football are about to receive a boost after announcing a partnership with current SPL (Singapore Premier League) champions, Albirex Niigata last Sunday.
The F17 Academy founded by local legend Fandi Ahmad is a youth football academy which offers a host of footballing programmes but its main objective is to coach young talents from the ages of 3-17 into future stars. With this announcement, the youth academy will be able to exchange knowledge, work with and study the system which has made Albirex Niigata champions in Singapore’s top-tier professional football league.
Having a pool of players age 4–12yrs and 13–14yrs old currently training at F17 Academy, the partnership aims to promote graduating players age 15yrs old into Albirex Niigata FC (Singapore) U-15. With this collaboration, F17 Academy hope that these young players will acquire professional skills that will enable them to further advance and be part of the SPL in the future. Just like talented duo Adam Swandi and Shahul Rayyan, two local talents playing in the Japanese side and competing in the Singapore Premier League (SPL). They are the role models and young players from F17 Academy would definitely want to achieve similar dreams too.
And, with Albirex Niigata FC (Singapore) being part of SPL, players from F17 Academy will have the chance to be escort players as well as interact with senior players. Through this partnership, there will be training observations, joint soccer camps, cultural exchange as well as avenues to understand the academy, company structure and systematic approach by the Japanese company.
Moreover F17 Academy along with Albirex will be looking to improve the quality of coaching through various coaching exchange programmes including workshops with Head Coach of their first team, Coach Kazuaki Yoshinaga.
“We envy the Japanese football culture where they won thrice in a row with different players andcoaches but still able to meet the target and achieve desired results,” mentioned, Habil Hakim, General Manager, F17 Academy.
