EXTRA TIME: How South Africa reacted to Manchester City heroics in Champions League

As expected soccer fanatics enjoyed Wednesday's action more so than the two goalless draws on Tuesday night. Here's how they welcomed the goals

After Liverpool vs. Bayern Munich and Lyon vs. Barcelona provided two 0-0 results on Tuesday night, the fans were relieved to watch a number of goals when Manchester City visited Schalke and Atletico hosted Juventus.

City scored an early goal through Sergio Aguero and South African legend Marks Maponyane was quick to label him as arguably the best striker in the world right now.

Then the Bundesliga club struck back thanks to two penalties by Nabil Bentaleb. So soccer followers on Twitter were debating the refereeing decisions and the use of VAR in the Uefa Champions League knockout phase.

With City down to 10-men they were up against it but then Leroy Sane scored a stunning free-kick and Raheem Sterling stole the show with a late winner.

In the other UCL encounter, much of the focus was on Cristiano Ronaldo's poor record in the competition this season as his Juventus side lost 2-0 to Atletico Madrid.

Ronaldo made it about himself when he started to boast that he has five UCL titles while Atletico has a sum total of zero. You can go through the Tweets about this incident too.
