Desire Oparanozie inspires Guingamp's first league win

The Nigerian forward's goal helped her side get their first win of the season in the French women topflight against Soyaux on Sunday

Desire Oparanozie was on target as Guingamp secured a 2-1 comeback win over Soyaux in A Division I Feminine game at Stade Léo Lagrange on Sunday.

Before the encounter, Sarak M'Barek's ladies were yet to win a league game in six successive matches, after picking three draws and defeats.

The 23-year-old scored in the 84th minute to cancel out Anais Dunmont's early goal for the hosts before Laura Bourgouin got the winning goal four minutes before full time.

The win sees them move out of the relegation zone to ninth spot with six points from eighth games and the goal was the striker's second in seven matches this season.

Guingamg will face seventh place Lille in their next league fixture at Stade Fred Aubert on November 19.
