Bongani Zungu seals victory for Amiens

The South African international was on target to help Christophe Pelissier’s men to their first pre-season win
Bongani Zungu sealed the victory for French Ligue 1 side Amiens in their 4-1 thrashing of UNFP FC in a friendly encounter on Friday evening.

The midfielder continued from his impressive form last season, scoring a second-half goal to help Christophe Pelissier’s men cruise to their first pre-season win.

Stiven Mendoza opened the scoring in the 17th minute for the Unicorns but Alexandre Vincent levelled proceedings 27 minutes later.

However, Mathieu Bodmer restored the lead to Stade de la Licorne outfit on the stroke of 45 minutes.

Four minutes after the break, Reda Rabei increased the lead and in the 62nd minute, Zungu put the icing on the cake from the penalty spot.

The 25-year-old who made 28 appearances for Amiens in all competitions last term will be hoping for another fine display when they clash with Paris on July 19.
