Bloemfontein Celtic still assessing former Orlando Pirates winger Sifiso Myeni

The former Wits captain is hoping to secure a deal with the 2012 Telkom Knockout Cup champions

Bloemfontein Celtic coach Lehlohonolo Seema has confirmed that former Orlando Pirates winger Sifiso Myeni is still training with the team.

The experienced attacking midfielder has been clubless since leaving Bidvest Wits at the end of the 2017/18 campaign.

Seema says Myeni, who won the Premier Soccer League (PSL) title with both Pirates and Wits, has been interesting during his trial period with the Bloemfontein-based outfit.

"He is still training and he has been interesting in training," Seema told The Citizen .

The 38-year-old tactician went on to reveal that they are yet to make a decision regarding the future of Myeni.

"But we are still looking at him. We have not made a decision yet,” the former Lesotho international continued.

Myeni will compete with the likes of Tebogo Potsane and Menzi Masuku should he earn himself a deal with Celtic.

The 30-year-old underwent an unsuccessful trial with Chippa United a few months ago.

Meanwhile, Seema is confident that he will guide Phunya Sele Sele to a top-eight finish in the top flight league with six matches left in the league.

"The games are getting tougher and lesser and we will still fight," Seema, who was appointed as caretaker coach following the departure of Steve Komphela in December 2018.

"We are still in it with six games to go. We are not giving up yet,” the former Pirates captain concluded.

Celtic will be in action after the current Fifa international as they take on Golden Arrows in the Nedbank Cup quarter-finals on March 30.
