Another blow for Yanga as Salamba signs for Simba

Simba have completed the deal to sign Lipuli attacking midfielder Adam Salamba on a reportedly three-year deal to overtake their arch rivals Yanga who saw their bid rejected last week.

There is no official news from either side but the pictures of Salamba with Simba’s Acting President Salim Abdallah and owner Mohamed Dewji on social media suggest that the move is complete.

Salamba was one of Lipuli's standout players after joining the club from Stand United in the January transfer window.

He caught the eyes of many teams including Yanga and Azam but Simba appeares to have won the war to sign the skillful player.

Salamba will have to fight for his chance in the starting spot under Frenchman coach Pierre Lechantre who is mostly like to use the attacking trio of John Bocco, Emmanuel Okwi and Shiza Kichuya.

The possible departure of Laudit Mavugo, Mohamed Ibrahim and Juma Luizio can be the reason for the club to seek other attacking players with Maji Maji’s Marcel Kaheza reportedly close to joining the Msimbazi giant.

This is a big blow for Yanga who also saw their striker Donald Ngoma join Azam on one-year deal on Saturday. They wanted to sign Salamba in order to improve their squad especially up front where there is another possible departure of Obrey Chirwa and Amis Tambwe during the transfer window.
