Kaizer Chiefs’ interest in Andile Jali has been confirmed by the player’s agent, Mike Makaab.
The central midfielder secured an early release from his contract with Belgian First Division A outfit KV Oostende last week.
Amakhosi, who recently parted ways with coach Steve Komphela, have promised to overhaul their squad and bring in new players in the upcoming transfer window.
Prosport International chief executive officer Makaab has since disclosed that many clubs have registered their interest in Jali, including Chiefs.
"Obviously there are a number of clubs that have shown interest and Chiefs are one of them," Makaab told Sowetan.
Recent media reports have indicated that Jali signed a pre-contract with Sundowns, but the player's manager has now set the record straight.
"But I can categorically state that he has not signed any pre-contract agreement with any club, at home or abroad,” he continued.
The former Pirates coach stated that he will soon have a meeting with Jali regarding his future.
"I will meet with Andile to discuss the way forward. Again, we are not ruling out the possibility of returning to Europe,” he added.
“Everything that we do has to make sense from the point of view of his career,” Makaab explained.
"He has a family now and, whatever his decision, he has to take them into consideration,” he indicated.
“The decision he will make is different from the one he would make five years ago when he left for Europe,” Makaab concluded.
Jali made over 100 appearances for Oostende after joining the club from Pirates in January 2014.
