AFC Leopards have lined up Lawrence Webo to take over as keeper trainer.
Goal understands that the former Kenyan keeper is set to be unveiled soon as the team prepares for the new season that kicks-off on December 8.
A source within the club confirmed that the signing of Webo will be announced before the end of the week. “We have talked to him (Webo) and the signs look positive. We want to finish our transfer business as quickly as possible so that the team can concentrate ahead of the new season.”
Webo is set to come in as a replacement for Matthews Ottamax, who threw in the towel on Wednesday citing mutual agreement. “I take this chance to thank the entire National Executive Committee, the technical team, the players, the backroom staff and all the loving fans of AFC Leopards for the opportunity to work for/with them wholeheartedly.
“It's on a mutual agreement that am leaving our beloved club as I proceed to pursue new challenges elsewhere. I will cherish the times I worked with you though occasionally we experienced difficulties here and there, which I believe is normal in this industry,” Ottamax said in a statement obtained by Goal.
Former player Simon Mulama is also lined up to return to The Den but on a different role.
