Ingwe put up a dismissal performance as they went down to rivals K’Ogalo in the Super Cup final played at Afraha Stadium

AFC Leopards coach Robert Matano has blamed his players for not putting up enough fight against Gor Mahia on Sunday.

Ingwe put up a dismissal performance as they went down to rivals K’Ogalo in the Super Cup final played at Afraha Stadium in Nakuru. Coach Matano now says his players lost concentration of the game even before the first whistle.

“We played our worst game today. We had lost concentration even before kick-off. The players boycotted training twice and this affected the team in this match. I don’t think it was a problem to do with me but the players.”

Matano added, “We also created chances to score but my players were not sharp upfront. Gor Mahia also resorted to defending after going ahead and this turned the game in their favour.

"We must improve now and the players must start training now or else we will start the league badly.”

Gor Mahia captain Haroun Shakava powered home the all-important goal from a header after a great combination involving George Odhiambo and left back Wellingtone Ochieng.
