Commentary

That's all from the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium today, so thank you for joining us and goodbye!
Conte has been to the final on both previous occasions he has contested the FA Cup as head coach, so will have one eye on repeating that feat having escaped unscathed today. First, though, Spurs have an EFL Cup semi-final to salvage and a North London derby coming up next weekend. Morecambe, meanwhile, will resume their battle against the drop against AFC Wimbledon on Saturday.
Relief will be the overriding emotion for Conte and company after this absorbing FA Cup tie, as Tottenham only progress to the fourth round thanks to a late comeback when their third-tier opponents inevitably tired. A triple change with just over 20 minutes to go had a dramatic effect on the destiny of the match, and Morecambe just couldn't cope with the renewed vigour brought about by Moura, Winks and Kane - all of whom scored. Nonetheless, the Shrimps can be proud of a resilient performance in the first hour, and have recorded the club's first ever third round goal in the process.
90' + 3' FULL-TIME: TOTTENHAM 3-1 MORECAMBE
90' + 2' In surely the last meaningful action of an entertaining match, Stockton fires a shot from outside the box high and wide to the right of Gollini's goal.
90' Skipp picks out Moura, whose right-footed shot from outside the box sails high over the bar.
G. Lo Celso
Assist
88' Lo Celso found Kane just outside the six-yard box to set up Spurs' third goal, effectively ending the cup tie.
D. Scarlett
G. Lo Celso
88' Having avoided being hooked in the triple change by Conte, Lo Celso created the third goal and is now replaced by young Scarlett.
H. Kane
Goal
88' SPURS HIT THREE! The hosts wrap up the win, as Lo Celso picks out Kane inside the area, and the Spurs striker clips a smart finish across Carson and in at the far post. Game over: Tottenham 3-1 Morecambe!
Emerson
R. Sessegnon
86' Sessegnon is the latest man brought off by Conte, and Emerson comes on.
Lucas Moura
Goal
85' SPURS IN FRONT! Typically sharp closing down by Moura on the halfway line helps him dispossess the deliberating McLaughlin, and the Brazilian winger strides clear and into the box, rounding Carson to tap home Tottenham's second goal. Spurs lead 2-1!
83' Spurs have stepped it up since the triple substitution and are now on 14 second-half shots, compared to nine throughout the whole first half.
81' SHARP STOP! Carson makes an excellent one-handed save from Lo Celso's shot, as Morecambe try desperately to hang on for extra-time.
79' CLOSE! Skipp drops the ball back in to Winks to try a 20-yard strike at goal, which whistles just over the Morecambe crossbar.
C. Jones
R. Cooney
77' Recently booked, Cooney makes way for Jones.
A. Wildig
T. Diagouraga
77' Having tired in the last 10 minutes, Diagouraga comes off for Wildig.
76' INCREDIBLE MISS! Totally unmarked, no more than six yards from goal, Kane somehow heads the ball wide of the post when it seemed improbable for the England striker to miss. What a chance spurned!
H. Winks
Goal
74' SPURS ARE LEVEL! Finally, the Premier League side are back on equal terms, as Winks swings a free-kick from out by the left touchline straight over Carson's head and into the net! 1-1 at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium!
R. Cooney
Yellow Card
74' Cooney is booked for a foul out on the left flank, offering Spurs a chance to get the ball into the box from the free-kick.
73' WIDE! From the edge of the box, Moura checks inside and clips a low shot just wide of the left-hand post. It is getting desperate for Spurs now - can they save this cup tie?
71' Following a run through a vacant area in the Spurs defence, Diagouraga slices a right-footed shot way wide of the target.
O. Skipp
T. Ndombèlé
69' Spurs make a triple change! First off, Ndombele drifts down the tunnel to be replaced by Skipp.
H. Kane
D. Alli
69' After a bright start, Alli has faded, and Kane is his replacement in attack.
Lucas Moura
Bryan Gil
69' Gil sprints off and Moura comes on to inject some pace up front.
68' Sessegnon pops up on the left this time and unleashes a powerful strike at goal from 25 yards, which is blocked by the redoubtable McLaughlin.
66' It looks as though Conte has seen enough, so Kane is getting warmed up on the touchline as another Spurs attack founders on the edge of the area.
L. Gibson
J. Bedeau
65' Bedeau is the second Morecambe player to make way, as Gibson replaces him for the final quarter of the game.
63' Seeing plenty of the ball throughout the game, on either flank, Sessegnon receives the ball from Winks high up on the right side, but a cross with his weaker foot sails harmlessly over the bar.
61' CLOSE! Sessegnon places the ball just wide of the post with his left foot from inside the box. That was a presentable chance for the wide man, who thumps the turf with frustration.
59' When Spurs have been drawn at home in the FA Cup third round, they haven’t lost since January 1990, so a defeat today would end that streak in addition to their major embarassment at being beaten by a struggling third-tier side.
J. Obika
J. Ayunga
58' Having put in a good shift up front, Ayunga is now replaced by former Spurs striker Obika.
56' With a touch of desperation, Doherty ends a good run inside from his station on the left flank with a wayward shot well over the bar.
54' GREAT SAVE! A clever backheel flick by Alli nearly brings the equaliser for Spurs, but it ends up being tipped over acrobatically by Carson at full length. That was wonderful improvisation, but still the hosts trail!
52' Lo Celso whips in a corner from the right, but Davies meets the ball with a miscued header at the near post and Morecambe survive.
50' Holding off Davies just inside the area, Stockton turns sharply and strikes a powerful shot over the crossbar. Morecambe have certainly got enough of an attacking threat to keep Spurs on their toes.
48' Following a couple of stepovers, Ndombele fires off a 25-yard shot which is blocked by McLoughlin on the verge of the box. Spurs claim a penalty, as the ball brushed his hand, but the referee is not interested.
47' Perhaps surprisingly, Tottenham have not made any personnel changes, but the wing-backs seem to have swapped places and will most likely play as inverted wingers.
46' We are back under way, as Spurs start the second half!
Their skipper's goal is not only Morecambe's first ever in the third round throughout a century-long history, but also puts them 45 minutes away from reaching the next stage for the first time too. Despite putting together only a third of the number of passes Spurs have managed - also making do with 23 per cent of possession - the Shrimps are one goal to the good, and a major upset remains possible.
The half-time whistle is greeted with a chorus of boos from the Spurs fans, while Morecambe's small pocket of red-clad supporters can dream of progressing to the FA Cup fourth round. Sporadic pressure by Spurs has not seen the visitors crack, and they have had several chances themselves - the best of which fell to captain O'Connor, who could not fail to take advantage of slack marking to give the League One side the lead. Conte will be appalled by the current state of play, so is surely set to make changes.
45' + 1' HALF-TIME: TOTTENHAM 0-1 MORECAMBE
T. Diagouraga
Yellow Card
44' For a foul on Alli inside his own half, Diagouraga picks up the game's first booking.
42' Morecambe are growing into the game once again, with the goal giving them renewed belief. They are not far from securing a first-half lead here.
40' Amid a mood of frustration inside Tottenham's grand new stadium, Winks tries a through ball, but Alli is just caught offside. Time is running out for Spurs to avoid some potential half-time boos.
38' Demonstrating their dominance despite a one-goal deficit, Spurs have had a remarkable 78 per cent of the ball so far. However, they've only produced a single shot on target.
36' Seeking an equaliser before the half-time whistle, Alli lays the ball off to Lo Celso on the edge of the box, but the Argentina international can only scuff a lacklustre shot straight at Carson.
A. O'Connor
Goal
33' MORECAMBE LEAD! Meeting a wonderful inswinging corner from McAlmont with a powerful close-range volley, Morecambe captain O'Connor steers the ball into the net to give the Shrimps a shock lead in the capital! The away fans go wild: Spurs 0-1 Morecambe!
A. McCalmont
Assist
33' From the left, McAlmont swung in an inviting corner for his skipper to head home the opening goal.
32' Some hesitant defending of a long, hopeful ball by Leigh nearly opens the door for Stockton, and Rodon has to clear behind for a corner.
30' O'Connor once more intervenes to cut out a Sessegnon cross from the left, which zips across the box, after some neat build-up play by Gil.
28' Drifting in from the left flank, Sessegnon skips past a couple of challenges and drives into the box, then Lo Celso has a shot blocked by Bedeau.
26' Morecambe have successfully narrowed the play as they sit deep inside their defensive third, so Spurs will hope to see more of their wing-backs before the break.
24' Spurs have stepped up their intensity following Doherty's close call, but their visitors remain resolute at the back with a quarter of the game completed.
22' Despite Morecambe's bright start, it will take an almighty upset to dump Tottenham out today, and the Premier League side have been eliminated at this stage of the FA Cup in just one of the last 15 campaigns - going down to North London rivals and eventual winners Arsenal in 2014.
20' OFF THE POST! From a right-sided corner, the ball zips dangerously across the box and Doherty drifts in at the far post to make contact with his head, but the ball rebounds away to safety having stuck the outside of the woodwork.
19' Under pressure, Sessegnon curls in a cross from the left flank, but Gil's attempt to make contact is blocked before he can get his boot cleanly on it. Spurs now have a corner.
17' Following a driving run by Alli down the right, Lo Celso receives the ball and lays it off quickly to Ndombele, whose mishit shot from the edge of the box is deflected wide for a corner.
15' Morecambe have shifted several yards up the pitch since their tentative start, and have applied consistent pressure on Spurs for the last five minutes. This is some impressive stuff by the League One outfit.
13' A ball in from the right gives Bedeau the chance to get a glancing header at goal, but his attempt drifts well wide of the left-hand post.
11' Rodon miscues a back-pass to Gollini, allowing Stockton to chase the loose ball down just outside the area. The hosts' goalkeeper has to frantically clear out for a throw-in, and for a second time Spurs are rattled.
9' A disappointing effort by Lo Celso drifts harmlessly wide of Carson's right post, and the set-piece chance is wasted.
8' A crunching challenge by Morecambe captain O'Connor scythes down Gil 25 yards out from goal on the left. That's a free-kick to Tottenham in a shooting position.
6' Gollini is called upon to make a routine save after Ndombele dwells on the ball in midfield and is disposessed by McLoughlin, who strikes a low, left-footed attempt from 20 yards.
5' Spurs have assumed complete control already, as Alli drifts about menacingly in a 'false nine' position.
3' CLOSE! A close-range glancing header by today's Spurs captain Davies just brushes the top of the net, after an inswinging corner by Winks. The hosts have sprinted out of the blocks!
2' Ndombele breaks clear on the left following a defensive error, but O'Connor slides in and blocks the ball behind for a corner.
1' McAlmont kicks us off, and we are under way at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium!
The players are out on the pitch for this FA Cup tie, with kick-off just moments away!
The visitors will rely on Stockton - who has racked up 15 goals in League One this season - to lead the line today, as they name a similar lineup to that which beat Doncaster with an incredible comeback last week. Though Josh McPake has now returned to parent club Rangers, Morecambe recently secured the loan signings of Bedeau and Carson, and both start today.
Spurs have opted to make a whole host of changes to their team amid a packed schedule in league and cup competition, with Kane, Sanchez and Lloris among those dropped to the bench. Meanwhile, Son Heung-min could be out for the rest of the month with a leg injury and stays sidelined. Cristian Romero and Steven Bergwijn also miss out through injury, but Conte offers opportunities to fringe players Tanganga, Doherty and Gil in an unfamiliar XI.
SUBS: Kyle Letheren, Arthur Gnahoua, Liam Gibson, Jacob Mensah, Wesley McDonald, Ryan Delaney, Callum Jones, Jonathan Obika, Aaron Wildig.
MORECAMBE (3-5-2): Trevor Carson; Anthony O'Connor, Ryan McLaughlin, Jacob Bedeau; Ryan Cooney, Shane McLoughlin, Alfie McCalmont, Toumani Diagouraga, Greg Leigh; Jonah Ayunga, Cole Stockton.
SUBS: Hugo Lloris, Maksim Paskotsi, Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg, Lucas Moura, Davinson Sanchez, Oliver Skipp, Emerson, Dane Scarlett, Harry Kane.
TOTTENHAM (3-4-3): Pierluigi Gollini; Japhet Tanganga, Joe Rodon, Ben Davies; Matt Doherty, Harry Winks, Tanguy Ndombele, Ryan Sessegnon; Dele Alli, Bryan Gil, Giovani Lo Celso.
After losing to Chelsea at this stage last season, Morecambe beat non-league Buxton in the second round to secure another Premier League encounter this year. However, the visitors sit 21st in the League One table - two points from safety after yesterday's games - and failed to win any of their final six games of 2021. They kicked off 2022 with a 4-3 home victory over Doncaster, but Shrimps manager Stephen Robinson - a former Spurs player - misses out on a return to North London after testing positive for COVID-19. His assistant Diarmuid O'Carroll will take charge instead.
Ahead of the first ever competitive meeting between the clubs, Tottenham have not lost to a side from the third tier of the English football pyramid since 1988 - a total of 20 FA Cup ties. The Premier League team have won two of their last three league games, continuing their uplift in form since Antonio Conte took charge, but lost the first leg of their EFL Cup semi-final with Chelsea in midweek. Conte has reached the final on both of his previous campaigns in this historic competition and will hope to take the first step towards a Wembley return today.
Hello and welcome to live coverage of Tottenham's FA Cup third round clash with Morecambe, from the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium!
