Relegation Play-off

That is all we have time for folks, thanks for joining us. Goodbye!
PSG's draw moves them up to second in the table ahead of Lille after they were beaten by Angers this evening. Lyon are now three points clear after their success over Lens, but Pochettino has something to build on, with Puel's side making life very tough for the majority of the 90 minutes. With the likes of Mauro Icardi and Neymar to return from injury, Pochettino will be confident he can help his team return to the summit of Ligue 1.
Pochettino's first game in charge of PSG ends in disappointment as his side are held to a 1-1 draw by Saint-Etienne. In fairness, it is no less than the home side deserved, but both teams had several chances to turn their game in their favour. Hamouma opened the scoring for Saint-Etienne after an error from Gueye, while Kean responded two minutes later for PSG. Marquinhos, Moukoudi, Di Maria and Bouanga all came close to changing the scoreline in the second half, but it was not to be.
90' + 3' SO CLOSE!!!! PSG launch one final attack and come within inches of scoring. Mbappe managed to hold the ball up before Kean turned in the box and picked out Sarabia. The substitute raced onto the pass and had the goal at his mercy, but he leaned back and fired over Moulin's goal. That should be all we have time for.
90' Three minutes of stoppage time to come. Both managers are frantically pacing up and down in their technical areas. Can either side grab a winner?
N. Sissoko
D. Bouanga
88' Puel tries to waste more time as Bounaga makes way for Sissoko.
86' PSG are now penning Saint-Etienne in, with the home side struggling to get out of their own half.
Pablo Sarabia
Á. Di María
84' Pochettino turns to his bench once more, with Di Maria making way for Sarabia.
A. Moueffek
R. Hamouma
83' Puel makes another change as Moueffek comes on in place of Hamouma.
C. Abi
Z. Youssouf
83' Youssouf is also off as Abi gets around 10 minutes to impress.
A. Aouchiche
A. Nordin
83' More changes to come from Saint-Etienne as Aouchiche replaces Nordin.
J. Draxler
Yellow Card
83' Draxler shown a yellow card, and it comes as no surprise. He catches Douath well after he had played the ball.
81' Paris have lost only two of their last 15 away games in Ligue 1. They have less than ten minutes to continue that record!
79' Kean goes down in the box while trying to attack a cross, he and his team-mates appeal for a penalty but the referee tells them to get on with it.
P. Retsos
Yellow Card
77' Retsos is shown a yellow card after smashing his way through the back of Kean.
75' DI MARIA!! The Argentinean has endured a quiet second half, but he comes alive on the edge of the box to test Moulin. His powerful drive looked to be finding the bottom corner, but Moulin gets down to his right to concede a corner.
73' The game is becoming stretched, and it is as if both teams have been told - next goal wins. With 11 minutes to go, that is likely, but the attacking drive from both is commendable.
71' KEAANNN! PSG come within a whisker of taking a 2-1 lead but Kean's half-volley sails over the crossbar. The striker was spotted in the box by Di Maria, and his curling cross was inch-perfect. Kean brought the ball down, but he has fired over when under pressure. Huge moment in this match!
70' OFF THE BAR!!! Bouanga is denied again, this time by the woodwork and he continues to test the PSG defence in this second half. The opportunity arose from a corner, with the forward meeting Hamouma's cross at the near post. Navas was beaten, but the crossbar saves PSG this time around.
68' PSG's latest corner sees them register another shot towards goal, but Herrera's prodded header misses the target.
67' Saint-Etienne appeal for a penalty after Hamouma goes down following a challenge from Kehrer. The officials show no interest and the game goes on!
65' WIDE! Youssouf wins a corner after seeing his long-range effort take a deflection off Verratti.
65' Navas!!! PSG have their keeper to thank yet again as he denies Bouanga at his near post. Boudebouz's first involvement since coming off the bench was to feed Bouanga, but the striker sees his shot saved.
64' CLOSE!!! Saint-Etienne nearly take the lead, but Nordin is not able to steer his header past Navas. The midfielder climbed higher than Bakker at the back post, but he seemed to lose his bearings, before firing the ball past the far post.
T. Pembele
C. Dagba
63' Dagba's night is over as he replaces Pembele at right-back for the final 30 minutes of the match.
R. Boudebouz
K. Monnet-Paquet
63' Puel also turns to his bench as Boudebouz comes on for Monnet-Paquet.
J. Draxler
I. Gueye
63' Pochettino makes an attacking substitution as Draxler replaces Gueye in midfield.
59' There is still time for PSG to take control and grab the win, but Saint-Etienne are giving an excellent account of themselves. After an hour, PSG would have expected to be in the lead, but they continue to struggle in midfield.
57' The visitors stand firm and clear their lines before breaking quickly, allowing Mbappe to try his luck from inside the box. The former Monaco man went down as he let fly, but the officials wave away any appeals for a penalty and signal a goal-kick.
56' Saint-Etienne win another free-kick, with Hamouma ready to test the PSG defence.
54' Moulin to the rescue! Saint-Etienne have their keeper to thank once again as he flies out of his goal to deny Mbappe, who had charged his way into the box.
50' Lille are losing 2-1 to Angers at present, while Lyon are winning 3-0. So while they will not go top, PSG will climb into second if the results stay the same.
48' Just like they did in the first half, Saint-Etienne make a fast start at the start of the second. Puel's men won a free-kick, and Kolodziejczak came inches away from finding a second goal. The centre-back tried to flick his header past Navas, but he did not generate enough power on his strike, and it was an easy save in the end for the PSG keeper.
46' We are back underway!
Both Navas and Moulin have made vital saves to keep the scoreline at 1-1, and there is every chance we get more goals in the second 45 minutes. PSG need to try and control the game better if they can, but in fairness to Saint-Etienne, they are making life very difficult for the league champions.
The referee brings an entertaining first half to a close and Saint-Etienne have given an excellent account of themselves. Pochettino has not had it all his own way during his first match in charge, with Hamouma's strike opening the scoring for the home side. Thankfully for PSG, Kean equalised within one minute.
45' PSG have weathered the storm for now, and there will be one minute of stoppage time at the end of the first half.
43' Big end to the half from Saint-Etienne, they have won three corners in a row, with PSG struggling to keep them at bay.
42' NAVAS!! The PSG goalkeeper makes his second big save of the night, this time to deny Debuchy. The former Arsenal right-back found space on the edge of the box before unleashing a volley towards the bottom corner. Navas has reacted brilliantly to turn his effort away from goal, that could have been some goal!
40' Five minutes to go before half-time, can either of these two find a goal before the break?
38' Play is back underway, and after having his shoulder checked over, Debuchy is back and fit to carry on.
37' Debuchy goes down in a heap after being sandwiched by Mbappe and Gueye. Mbappe gave him a little nudge, while Gueye has smashed into him and conceded a free-kick. He remains on the turf, and the Saint-Etienne medical team are making their way onto the pitch.
34' Di Maria cuts inside and makes his way into the box, readying himself to attack Dagba's cross. He manages to latch onto the end of the pass, but he puts too much power behind his volley and fires the ball over the crossbar.
32' If Saint-Etienne are to get anything from this match, Moukoudi is likely to play a big part. He nearly scored in the first few minutes, while he has made several important clearances at the opposite end of the pitch.
30' While he already has an assist, Verratti needs to work with Herrera and Gueye a little more to try and dominate the midfield battle. The Italy international is doing what he can to push forward, but his side needs him to connect the play a little more if possible.
27' Pochettino's men have enjoyed over 70 per cent possession so far, but they need to gain a little more control to make it count.
25' Before today's match, PSG had kept a clean sheet on ten occasions in Ligue 1 this season. No other team from the top five European leagues has more, but Saint-Etienne have already tarnished that record this evening.
M. Verratti
22' Verratti grabs the assist for PSG's opener, but it was a well-worked team move in the end. Mbappe played a huge role, while Verratti's pass split the Saint-Etienne defence, allowing Kean time to shoot.
M. Kean
22' GOAAAALLLLL - SAINT-ETIENNE 1-1 PSG - Kean wastes no time and fires PSG level after a superb counter-attack. Mbappe was the architect after getting the wrong side of Debuchy. Once he found time to cross, he played a low ball towards the penalty spot, with Verratti able to bring his pass under control. He found Kean, who still had work to do, but the youngster did brilliantly well to turn on a sixpence and fire past Moulin.
21' This is a big test for Pochettino now as he tries to get his players back on the front foot.
D. Bouanga
19' Bouanga deserves plenty of praise for that assist, a lot of players would have gone for goal in that situation.
R. Hamouma
19' GOALLLLLLL SAINT-ETIENNE 1-0 PSG - The home side take the lead against the run of play thanks to Hamouma's cool finish. While it was a well-taken goal, PSG have themselves to blame. Gueye lost control on the edge of the box, allowing the home side to pick his pocket. Bouanga raced onto the loose ball, squaring for Hamouma who fired into the top corner.
16' As expected, PSG are starting to dictate the tempo of the game and dominate possession.
14' Three significant opportunities in just four minutes, this game could be a cracker if it carries on in the same vein.
12' WHAT A SAVE!!! Moulin keeps the game goalless thanks to a sublime one-handed stop, this time from a Marquinhos header. The visitors won a corner, which was met by Marquinhos but he is denied thanks to Moulin's heroic efforts.
10' KEAN! Just seconds after seeing Moukoudi go close, Kean tries his luck at the other end. Herrera's lofted throughball released the on-loan striker, but Moulin saved his effort.
9' SAVE!! Saint-Etienne win another corner and Moukoudi sees a powerful header saved by Navas at his near post. The centre-back towered over several defenders before heading for goal, but Navas was on hand to keep him at bay.
6' We are still just a few minutes into the game, but the pace is solid, with both sides keen to get the ball down and play quickly.
4' Kean is currently playing through the middle for PSG, with Mbappe on the left and Di Maria on the right. That may change throughout the night, but Pochettino has gone for pace down the flanks for the time being.
2' The home side have made a lively start here, winning a corner, while Debuchy has also seen a header flash wide of the post.
1' We are underway, Saint-Etienne in their green and white home strip, PSG will wear their purple away kit this evening.
The two teams are now on the field of play and kick-off is moments away.
Saint-Etienne will need to be at their best if they want to improve their record against PSG. They have won none of their last 14 league games against PSG, failing to score in nine of their previous 12 meetings.
After the 2-2 draw with Monaco before Christmas, Saint-Etienne boss Claude Puel makes five changes to his starting XI. Makoudi, Retsos, Youssouf, Nordin and Hamouma get the chance to impress, while Sow, Trauco, Camara, Noupa and Aouchiche drop out. In his first game in charge, Pochettino makes just two alterations to the team that beat Strasbourg 4-0. Gueye and Kean come in for Pembele and Rafinha.
SUBS: Alexandre Letellier, Timothee Pembele, Sergio Rico, Bandiougou Fadiga, Pablo Sarabia, Kays Ruiz-Atil, Julian Draxler, Abdou Diallo, Xavi Simons.
PSG (4-3-3): Keylor Navas; Colin Dagba, Thilo Kehrer, Marquinhos, Mitchel Bakker; Idrissa Gueye, Marco Verratti, Ander Herrera; Angel Di Maria, Moise Kean, Kylian Mbappe.
SUBS: Charles Abi, Maxence Rivera, Baptiste Gabard, Stefan Bajic, Adil Aouchiche, Miguel Trauco, Ryad Boudebouz, Alpha Sissoko, Aïmen Moueffek.
SAINT-ETIENNE (4-2-3-1): Jessy Moulin; Mathieu Debuchy, Harold Moukoudi, Timothee Kolodziejczak, Panagiotis Retsos; Zaydou Youssouf, Arnaud Nordin; Kevin Monnet-Paquet, Lucas Gourna Douath, Romain Hamouma; Denis Bouanga.
Despite their impressive results of late, Saint-Etienne are 14th in the league table and just six points above the relegation zone. On the other hand, PSG can return to the top of the Ligue 1 table if results go their way. Lyon and Lille are joint-top on 36 points, with PSG one point worse off in third.
Fourteen months after his Tottenham exit, Pochettino returns to the dugout with a point to prove. The Argentinean was linked with several high-profile jobs, but he joined PSG earlier this month, and he has had little time to prepare for the clash with Saint-Etienne. PSG are unbeaten in their last three matches, while the home side have not lost in six games.
Hello and welcome to today's live coverage of the Ligue 1 meeting between Saint-Etienne and Paris Saint-Germain. This evening's game is a massive occasion for Mauricio Pochettino, who takes charge of PSG for the first time since replacing Thomas Tuchel.
