That's all for now though, goodbye!
The result means that Madrid climb to the top of the formative La Liga table, while Celta remain in 18th.
A dazzling second half display fuels a 5-2 win for Real Madrid over Celta Vigo. The visitors started well: Mina gave them the lead with a crisp finish on three minutes and despite Benzema's volleyed equaliser, they retook the lead through Cervi's tap-in. However, Madrid clicked into gear after half time - they scored four unanswered goals to take the game away from the visitors. First, Benzema steered in Gutierrez's cross to make it 2-2. Next, Vinicius burst through one-on-one and finished cleverly to give the hosts the lead. And then came two goals for added comfort. Camavinga scored on his debut with a close-range effort, before Benzema completed his hat-trick from the spot following a foul on Vinicius. Madrid may have looked fragile in the first half, but an excellent second 45 minutes ensured they won handsomely.
90' + 4' FULL TIME: Real Madrid 5-2 Celta Vigo
90' + 3' Close! Almost a sixth for Madrid. Benzema gets to the byline after a well-worked corner and drills in a low cross that Militao can only bundle into Dituro.
90' + 1' Three minutes of stoppage time are added on.
J. Aidoo
J. Murillo
89' Murillo makes way for Aidoo in defence.
Vinícius Júnior
89' Vinicius is replaced by Rodrygo after a superb display in attack for the hosts.
Miguel Gutiérrez
89' Madrid make two changes following the fifth goal: the first sees Gutierrez make way for Marcelo.
K. Benzema
Penalty Goal
87' BENZEMA! 5-2! It's a hat-trick for the Madrid striker who blasts his penalty into the left top corner and beyond the despairing Dituro.
86' Penalty to Madrid! Vinicius dances in between Murillo and Saurez, forcing the latter into a silly trip and the referee awards a penalty!
85' Gutierrez searches for Benzema with a low cross, but Araujo cuts it out. Benzema's looking frustrated not to have had a chance to complete his hat-trick so far today.
83' Celta are still battling to find a way back into this game, but their hopes are fading currently.
81' Asensio's corner is headed clear at the back post by Murillo.
L. Modrić
79' Modric is replaced by Asensio after an energetic display in midfield.
78' Nolito smashes a wild effort over the bar from distance.
76' Three second half goals have put Madrid in a commanding position now, but - with their defensive frailties displayed today - it could yet be a nervous final 10 minutes.
74' Big chance! Celta waste an opportunity to get back in the game. Nolito plays a neat one-two with Aspas and finds himself clean through on goal. However, Courtois closes down the angle quickly, and Nolito's dinked finish sails narrowly wide of the post.
E. Camavinga
72' CAMAVINGA! 4-2! Camavinga nets a debut goal! Modric bursts from midfield and gets all the way into the box, before having an outside of the foot shot beaten away by Dituro. However, the rebound falls to the alert Camavinga who slots it into an empty net.
70' Vinicius has looked imperious for Madrid today, but Benzema has been at the heart of everything. The French striker has two goals, to go with one assist and three chances created.
68' Close! Vinicius darts inside from the left flank and breezes past Araujo, before firing a low, 18-yard strike against the legs of Dituro.
E. Camavinga
E. Hazard
66' Hazard is replaced by new signing Camavinga in attack.
Thiago Galhardo
Santi Mina
63' Another goalscorer comes off for Celta, as Mina jogs off to be replaced by Galhardo.
F. Cervi
63' Celta make two more changes. The first sees Cervi depart for Nolito, despite his earlier goal.
A. Solari
Yellow Card
63' Solari gets Celta's second yellow card in quick succession following a foul on Modric.
N. Araujo
Yellow Card
63' Araujo is booked after tripping Benzema near the touchline.
61' Both teams have found it easy to create chances today and you wouldn't be surprised if there were further goals. They've produced a combined 15 shots inside the box (9 for Madrid and 6 for Celta).
59' Chance! Celta almost equalise as Aspas forces Courtois into a reflex save with an awkward volley from a tight angle, just inside the box.
57' Madrid have blown Celta away in the opening 15 minutes of this half, and now the visitors need to find something special and regroup to get back in this.
K. Benzema
55' Benzema had a narrow window to play that pass. Too soon, and it would have been gathered by the goalkeeper. Too late, and Vinicus would have been offside. But with Benzema's timing, his threaded pass on the halfway line perfectly found Vinicius to send him one-on-one with Dituro!
Vinícius Júnior
55' VINICIUS! 3-2 MADRID! The hosts turn it around. Benzema sends a throughball on the turn towards Vinicius, who beats the offside trap to find himself clean through on goal. Vinicius darts towards goal and keeps his composure before knocking a low finish beyond Dituro!
Vinícius Júnior
Yellow Card
55' Vinicius is booked after jumping into the crowd to celebrate that goal.
53' Mina's 18-yard drive is comfortably saved by Courtois.
A. Solari
Brais Méndez
52' Mendez makes way for Solari in midfield.
50' Vinicius jinks past Mallo and goes down, winning a promising free-kick for Madrid. Modric whips in the delivery, but it flicks off Benzema's hand and Celta get a free-kick.
48' That's the ideal start to the half for Madrid. The longer Celta held onto their lead, the more pressure the hosts would have found themselves under - but with Benzema's second goal they've erased that fear.
Miguel Gutiérrez
46' Celta backed off Gutierrez and he punished the visitors with a pinpoint cross to Benzema who had the athleticism and touch to guide in a wonderful header.
K. Benzema
46' BENZEMA! 2-2! Madrid equalise for the second time. Gutierrez is afforded plenty of time to swing in a cross from the left, and he bends a delivery towards the back post where Benzema leaps over Murillo to steer a brilliant header back across goal and into the top corner!
46' Celta get the second half under way.
Fran Beltrán
R. Tapia
46' Tapia makes way for Beltran in Celta's midfield to start the second half.
Madrid were impressive going forward in that half, but they'll need to find a way to limit Celta's counter-attacks if they're to overturn this deficit in the second 45.
Celta lead Madrid 2-1 after a thrilling first half. The visitors took the lead in the fourth minute: Mina latched onto a pass from Aspas - following a defensive mix-up - and he rifled a low shot beyond Courtois. However, Madrid responded well and quickly pinned the visitors in. Despite a chance for Aspas on the break, Madrid equalised midway through the half when Benzema knocked in Valverde's cutback. However, Celta's potency on the counter remained and they regained the lead when Cervi tapped in Mallo's cross at the second attempt.
45' + 1' HALF TIME: Real Madrid 1-2 Celta Vigo
45' Celta hit Madrid on the break again, but this time Mina's shot flicks off Gutierrez and goes behind. The resulting corner amounts to nothing.
J. Murillo
Yellow Card
43' Hazard gallops down the right flank at full flow until he's halted by Murillo's scything challenge. The referee quickly awards a yellow card, but the defender was a little lucky to escape further punishment.
42' Casemiro charges down Tapia's shot from the edge of the box.
40' Benzema finds the net with a stooping header following a neatly worked free-kick, but the linesman instantly rules it out for offside.
38' Vinicius rides a number of challenges, before feeding Benzema who curls a shot against Murillo from 20 yards.
36' This has been a brilliant game so far though. Madrid have looked threatening throughout, but at the same time, they've looked extremely vulnerable in defence - and it's made for a thrilling end-to-end affair!
34' Madrid switched off there. They got caught out in midfield, and - with little effort required - Celta found themselves charging forward with a three-on-two.
Yellow Card
33' Nacho is booked for a foul on Aspas in the build-up.
F. Cervi
31' CERVI! 2-1! Celta retake the lead. Aspas releases Mallo down the right flank and Madrid are caught out with a three-on-two. Mallo progresses all the way into the box and slides in a low cross that Cervi flicks against the post, before he knocks it in at the second attempt into an emtpy net!
30' Celta have managed to slow the game down since Benzema's goal.
28' Modric hammers in a cross from the byline, but Dituro pounces on it just in time.
26' Madrid deserved that equaliser. They've been in total command since Celta's opener and a leveling goal felt inevitable.
F. Valverde
24' Valverde did well to hook that delivery back across goal. Many players would have attempted a wild strike at goal there, but he had the presence of mind to keep the move alive and pick out Benzema in a great position.
K. Benzema
24' BENZEMA! 1-1! Casemiro clips a diagonal pass towards the back post, where Valverde volleys it back across goal. It runs perfectly into the path of Benzema who drills a volley into the ground, over Dituro and into the roof of the net from 12 yard
22' Mina scored the last away goal at the Santiago Bernabeu in the pre-pandemic La Liga in 2020 and now he's scored the first in the return.
21' A mistake from Carvajal gifts Aspas a route to goal, but Madrid manage to smuggle it behind.
20' If Madrid keep up this pressure then you'd think a goal would be inevitable. Vinicius has been at the heart of their positive play since going behind.
18' Hazard dances into the box and rifles a low effort straight at Dituro.
16' It's been all Madrid since that early goal and Celta will need to tighten up if they're to hold onto their lead.
14' Benzema wriggles to the byline and cuts it back to Valverde who blasts a 12-yard strike well over.
12' Well, this has been an ideal start for Celta! Coming off a fragile start to the season, they've started with intent and have taken a precious lead to defend.
10' Close! Vinicius darts inside from the left and glides into the box, before firing a vicious shot that flicks off Araujo and just over the bar!
8' Vinicius swings in another dangerous cross, but two Celta defenders converge to nudge it anxiously into the arms of Dituro.
6' Chance! Madrid are presented with an immediate opportunity to reply with a free-kick near the touchline. Vinicius rises to glance Hazard's delivery towards goal but Dituro is well placed to tip it over!
Iago Aspas
4' That was a crisp, selfless pass from Aspas. After winning possession right on the edge of the box, Aspas could easily have taken an excitable shot. Instead, he kept his composure and slipped Mina through on goal, allowing his strike partner to do the rest.
Santi Mina
4' MINA! 1-0 CELTA! The visitors take a surprising early lead. Mendez nudges it away from Valverde and Madrid fail to clear the loose ball. Aspas manages to pounce on it though, and he slips in Mina who confidently fires a low finish under Courtois from 10 yards!
3' Celta try and settle into the game with a long spell of possession.
1' Real Madrid get the first half under way.
The players are emerging from the tunnel and take in the occasion as football returns to the Santiago Bernabeu after over 18 months away!
For the visitors to stand a chance, they’ll need to show more threat in attack than they have in recent weeks. Despite attempting a total of 17 total shots (four vs Osasuna and 13 vs Athletic Club), Celta Vigo have failed to record a shot on target in their last two La Liga matches, the first time they failed in consecutive matches in the competition since at least 2003/04.
Celta Vigo make two changes: Aidoo drops out of defence for Murillo, while Nolito makes way for Cervi.
Madrid make three changes to the side that beat Real Betis 1-0 last time out. David Alaba drops out of the squad entirely; Gareth Bale misses out through injury; and Isco also makes way.
SUBS: Thiago Galhardo, Kevin Vazquez, Ruben Blanco, Miguel Baeza, Jose Manuel Fontan, Nolito, Okay Yokuslu, Fran Beltran, Joseph Aidoo, Augusto Solari.
CELTA VIGO (4-1-3-2): Matias Dituro; Hugo Mallo, Jeison Murillo, Nestor Araujo, Javi Galan; Renato Tapia; Brais Mendez, Denis Suarez, Franco Cervi; Iago Aspas, Santi Mina.
SUBS: Luis Lopez, Isco, Marcelo, Mariano, Lucas Vazquez, Jesus Vallejo, Marco Asensio, Antonio Blanco, Rodrygo, Eduardo Camavinga, Andriy Lunin.

On the other hand, Celta Vigo have struggled so far. They have just one point so far following defeats to Atletico and Athletic Bilbao – they’ll be hoping to stun Madrid today and kickstart their own season.
