Few footballers can boast the CV that Patrick Kluivert can, The Dutchman played for a Champions League winning Ajax side before moves to European giants AC Milan and Barcelona

It was always going to be tough for Kluivert to build his dream XI from the players he starred alongside for club and country, but he gave it a go on Sky Sports .

The best goalkeeper that Patrick Kluivert ever played with was Edwin van der Sar who played between the sticks at Ajax and for the Dutch national team.

Kluivert said: "It was very important to have a goalkeeper who was good with his feet, and he was one of the best of them."

  • Michael Reiziger Barcelona

It should come as no surprise that Michael Reiziger slots in here as the two players were seemingly inseparable throughout their careers.

Both started at Ajax before moving onto AC Milan, both then went to Barcelona until 2004 before making the switch to the north east of England, with Kluivert going to Newcastle and Reiziger going to Middlesbrough.

  • Desailly

Despite only spending one season at AC Milan, Kluivert selected Marcel Desailly in his best defence, somewhat controversially leaving out Paolo Maldini.
  • Jaap Stam Lazio

Stam and Kluivert played alongside each other for Netherlands, and the former striker also played against the formidable centre-half many times whilst both men were starting out their careers in the Eredivisie.

  • Xavi

Kluivert played with Xavi before he peaked as the main man in Pep Guardiola's Barcelona side but he could clearly see the talent that the Spanish midfielder possessed, putting him above the likes of Edgar Davids in his dream XI.
  • Kluivert, Rivaldo y Dani - Barcelona 2000

Dennis Bergkamp's departure at Ajax was just before Kluivert broke into the team but the pair still combined as a prolific partnership for the Dutch national side.

Kluivert said: "Dennis was an artist, he knows exactly where he is on the pitch and it is so difficult to defend against him as he's always one step ahead. I think that he is one of the best."

  • Ronaldinho Barcelona Real Madrid 2005

Kluivert left himself out of his own team in order to make way for Ronaldinho up front. The Brazilian played alongside him at Barcelona and he also beats out the likes of George Weah and Alan Shearer to take the final spot in Kluivert's dream XI.
