Many supporters have voiced their immense disappointment after the French forward joined his Senegal rival on the treatment table

France striker Karim Benzema is the latest star to be ruled out of the 2022 World Cup which will start in Qatar on Sunday.

The Real Madrid forward was injured in training on Friday and will need about three weeks to heal meaning he will miss the competition.

Benzema will join Senegal international Sadio Mane on the treatment table after he suffered a knee injury, so the Ballon d'Or winner and the runner-up will not feature.
