Amakhosi host the Durban club that stands between them and a ticket to the final stage of the domestic competition.

Coach Arthur Zwane has revealed Kaizer Chiefs' starting XI to face AmaZulu in the MTN8 Cup semi-final at FNB Stadium on Sunday.

The Glamour Boys hope to win and stand in an advantageous position before the second leg duel later.

Here is how Zwane has lined up his charges to face Usuthu:

  • Itumeleng Khune Kaizer Chiefs August 2022

    Itumeleng Khune

Upon his return to the first team fold, Khune was key when Chiefs saw off Stellenbosch in the quarter-finals.

He has been given another chance to prove why he is still a vital cog in the team.

  • Dillon Solomons, Kaizer Chiefs, August 2022

Solomons starts at right-back once more as Reeve Frosler is benched.

  • Sifiso Hlanti Kaizer Chiefs Katlego Otladisa Marumo Gallants

    Sifiso Hlanti

He looks an undroppable first-teamer since he came back from a long-term injury layoff.

Hlanti's experience at the back would be vital as Amakhosi chase the domestic trophy.

  • Zitha Kwinika, Kaizer Chiefs, August 2022

Another newcomer that has had a seamless transition into the Chiefs starting team since the season began.

  • Edmilson Dove Kaizer Chiefs.

Dove once again operates at the heart of the defence and would cherish a battle with former Orlando Pirates forward, Frank Mhango.

  • Njabulo Blom Kaizer Chiefs September 2022

    Njabulo Blom

Blom – in the deep midfield – will have to execute his mission with precision as he covers the back four and provides an efficient link with the attackers.

  • Yusuf Maart, Kaizer Chiefs, September 2022

    Yusuf Maart

Maart has earned Zwane’s confidence and, as a trusted soldier, he is expected to link up well with both Njabulo Blom and Siyethemba Sithebe in order to come out on top against the rivals.

As he operates in the midfield-attacking front, Sithebe must be creative enough to open up Usuthu’s defence and produce chances for the Soweto giants.

  • Ashley Du Preez Kaizer Chiefs

He is still looking for his scoring touch and the MTN 8 duel gives him a perfect hunting ground for goals.

  • Kgaogelo Sekgota of Kaizer Chiefs

Sekgota maintains his place in the starting XI just after being involved for Bafana Bafana in the Fifa international break.

  • Bonfils-Caleb Bimenyimana, Kaizer Chiefs, September 2022

    Bonfils-Caleb Bimenyimana

The Burundian introduced himself to the Amakhosi faithful with a brace against SuperSport.

Will he find the back of the net again and cement his place as a dependable attacker?
