Kaizer Chiefs Player Ratings: Maart and Billiat outstanding against Maritzburg United

Kaizer Chiefs claimed a 3-0 win over Maritzburg United at FNB Stadium in their second PSL match of the season.

Goals from Ashley du Preez, Keagan Dolly and Mduduzi Shabalala earned the Soweto giants a well-deserved win.

There are several Chiefs players who caught the eye on the night as the team registered its first win of the campaign.

    A good display in Chiefs' goal.

    Bvuma put in a strong performance - dealing well with aerial balls while also distributing the ball with aplomb. He made one save - denying Keagan Ritchie with a fabulous block and kept a clean sheet.

    Dillon Solomons - 7/10

    Played relatively well on his full debut for Amakhosi.

    Solomons looked sharp on the right wing as he made several sprints up the pitch to aid his side in attack. He should have scored when he was sent through on goal by Keagan Dolly.

    However,the quick player was denied by goalkeeper King Ndlovu. He was rarely tested defensively.

    Started the game in the left-back spot once again.

    Frosler ventured forward at every opportunity he got. However, things changed in the second half as Siboniso Conco unsettled him, but he recovered well and silenced the attacker.

    A leader at the heart of Amakhosi defence.

    Zwinika made a positive start to the encounter and held his position as Amakhosi's last man very well. He organised the defence and shouted instructions.

    Ngezana had a slow start to the game.

    This is mainly because Maritzburg did not attack much. However, he was solid in defence, winning aerial duels and making vital clearances.

    Influential in the middle of the park.

    Maart was flawless in terms of his passing and he also won back possession for his team as Amakhosi controlled the game from start to finish. He was named Man of the Match.

    Played well in his first half appearance.

    Matlou was at his flamboyant best as he ran the show in what was his first start for Chiefs - playing some incisive and accurate passes for his teammates He was surprisingly substituted at half-time.

    Flourished in his role as a ball carrier.

    Sithebe carried the ball from midfield into attacking areas and he combined well with the front three. He was substituted with 10 minutes left.

    Captained Amakhosi once again.

    Dolly began the game sharply and his combination plays with his teammates in the final third created problems for the Maritzburg defence. He took his goal well when he doubled Chiefs' lead.

    Chiefs' best attacker on the night.

    Billiat's unpredictable movement in the wide areas unsettled the Maritzburg's defence. He got two assists on the night and he could have had a third, but Du Preez missed the target.

    Led the attack very well.

    Du Preez pressed and harried the Maritzburg defenders - forcing them into making some mistakes. His fine strike opened the scoring beating goalkeeper King Ndlovu hands down.

    Brought some urgency and creativity to the Amakhosi midfield when he replaced Matlou. He forced Ndlovu into a fantastic save with a long-range shot.

    His sharp movement caused havoc for the Team of Choice defence and he started the move which led to Mduduzi Shabalala scoring after beating his marker having been introduced in the 80th minute.
