Wolverhampton Wanderers sporting director Kevin Thelwell has backed new recruit Phil Ofosu-Ayeh to succeed in England following his latest move.
On Tuesday, Wolves announced the acquisition of the Ghanaian from German second tier outfit Eintracht Braunschweig on a three-year deal, which takes off on July 1.
"We've spent a lot of time looking at players abroad and Bundesliga 2 is a very strong league," Thelwell told his club's official website.
"Eintracht Braunschweig were just unfortunate to not get through the play-offs and be promoted to the Bundesliga.
"He's a player that we've watched for some time and we think that he'll bring with him a lot of experience and a lot of quality in the right back position.
"The quality and the size of the German leagues is huge, the size of the fanbases at all of the clubs there are pretty outstanding and it's an environment that's as close to England as you can imagine.
"I've got no worries that he will be able to come in here and hit the ground running."
Ofosu-Ayeh made 16 league appearances involving 14 starts for Braunschweig in the Bundesliga 2 last season.
Born in Moers to a German mother and a Ghanaian father, the former VfR Aalen man is a full Ghana international, having featured in a friendly against Canada in 2015.
