New signing Nickson Omondi scored on his debut as Sharks run riot against the Djibouti side and help put one leg in next round

Despite a healthy 6-1 win against Djibouti's Arta Solar in the Caf Confederation Cup, Kariobangi Sharks head coach William Muluya says his side needs to work harder in the second leg to seal a place in the next round.

Goals from Duke Abuya, Sydney Lokale, an own goal, Nickson Omondi, Patillah Omotto and Fidel Origa were enough to hand the Kenyan side an advantage against their opponents, who hit their consolation through Konan Komenan. Muluya is happy with his charges for the display in their continental debut.

“To be honest I am happy with the performance by the players, everyone did his part as expected and as a result we got the result we needed. Playing in the continental competition is a motivation in itself and the players showed they have been waiting for it.

“On another day we could have scored more goals but all in all it is a big win for us. It is not yet celebration time for us, we have to go to Djibouti and finish the job, it is not yet over,” Muluya told Goal.com.
