Western Stima win to move top of NSL as KCB stumble

KCB's bid to make a return to top flight football suffered a rude shock after financial crippled St Josephs managed to get a draw on Sunday.

The bankers, under coach John Kamau, came into the match as favourites, and the fact was further strengthened in the 26th minute as Shami Kibwana did well to give his side a deserved lead.

A wicked turn of events in the stroke of half time saw the visitors equalize courtesy of Moses Arita, a goal that gave his side a valuable point and dent their hosts' promotion ambitions.

At the same venue, John Amboko led Nairobi City Stars downed visiting Kangemi All Stars 2-1. Goals for the hosts were scored in the first half courtesy of Stephen Iganji and Peter Wainaina with the latter hitting the back of his own net later on to hand the Kangemi-based side a consolation.

At Moi Stadium, Kisumu, Western Stima produced a superb display to defeat relegation threatened GFE 105 3-0 and move top of the NSL table. The power men scored their goals courtesy of James Ogada, Fredrick Nyarombo and Johanna Mwita.

But their position could change if Ushuru manages to get maximum points against Coast Stima at Camp Toyoyo on Monday; another match at the same venue will be between Administration Police against Bidco United.

Isibania will be at Awendo Stadium to face hosts Green Commandos.
