Enugu Rangers’ Isaac Loute has said his side are ready to face two-time champions in the Federation Cup quarter-final at the Sani Abacha Stadium in Kano on Wednesday.
The Promise Keepers have advanced in finishing as runners-up at the Aba centre, while the Flying Antelopes were winners at the Lagos centre last week.
Having failed to see off Abdu Maikaba’s men last season, the defender is confident about his side’s quest to your reach the last four and reclaim the title.
“Akwa United are a top side in the league and they have a rich antecedent and are defending champions," Loute told Goal.
“They play good and compact football but we are not scared of playing them. To be the best on the nation, one has to play against the best and tough teams.
“We know to beat Akwa won’t come easy, so we are fully ready for them. Akwa are always tough for other teams because of the quality of players - so they give their opponents a tough time.”
“We are not focusing on a particular player rather we will play our game and get the result we need to qualify to the semi-final.”
