The former Super Eagles midfield maestro is confident that Gernot Rohr’s men have learnt their lesson from the first leg defeat

Jay-Jay Okocha believes South Africa will be under pressure when they face Nigeria in Saturday's crucial 2019 Africa Cup of Nations qualifying tie at the FNB Stadium.

Bafana Bafana clinched the top spot in Group E with a stunning 2-0 victory over the three-time African champions at the Akwa Ibom Stadium in June 2017.

However, they lost their place at the summit of the group to the Super Eagles after they were forced to a 0-0 draw in the return leg of their tie with Seychelles.

And the former Nigeria skipper is confident that the west Africans have learnt their lesson from the first leg defeat in Uyo while explaining that Stuart Baxter’s men will be more under pressure in the encounter.

“It was a deserved victory for Bafana Bafana then, which I think we took a lesson from,” Okocha told Kick Off.

“If we win, that’s our ticket to Cameroon, so the pressure is really more on Bafana Bafana, which makes it also an interesting match to watch.

“For me, most important is for the players to understand, which I’m sure they do, that it’s a game they can’t afford to lose if they want to qualify for AFCON.”

The Super Eagles missed out of the last two editions of the tournament but with nine points gathered from their previous four games, a win against South Africa will seal their place in Cameroon next year.
