The Covert Agent can reveal the 20-year-old, who was released by the Gosford club on Friday, will put pen to paper with the Sky Blues as they attempt to rebuild following the departure of Graham Arnold.

Buhagiar played 19 matches and scored two goals for the Mariners during the recent season - but only made four starting appearances.

News of the Gosford-born local wanting to leave first surfaced in August last year, with The Covert Agent reporting Buhagiar wanting out of the club because of an impending lack of opportunities.

The Covert Agent was also first to report about two other probable Central Coast departures; want-away playmaker Daniel De Silva and Melbourne City-bound Lachlan Wales .

Central Coast have also been active in bringing players to their club with Corey Gameiro and Matt Simon both signing on for next season.

They have also locked in the futures of winger Connor Pain, midfielder Jacob Melling and defender Kye Rowles.
