Ten-man Zoo FC moved three places up in the Kenyan Premier League table after a 2-1 win over Kariobangi Sharks on Sunday.

Zoo handed Sharks their third consecutive defeat, a result that leaves the Slum side in a precarious position of defending their third place finish in 2017.

Sharks have now conceded eight goals in three games, having gone down to Bandari and Gor Mahia by identical 3-0 before Sunday’s defeat by Zoo.

The Kericho-based side stretched their unbeaten record to four league matches following a hard-fought victory over the William Muluya coached side.

Michael Madoya doubled Zoo’s lead in the 58th minute after connecting a well-delivered cross from Kepha Ondati as the Kericho side once again pulled away from Sharks.

Zoo were reduced to ten-men after Ernest Kipkoech was given his marching orders. Kipkoech received a second yellow card for a dangerous tackle, with seven minutes still to run down on the clock.

The victory saw Zoo, who last lost a league match on July 1 against Posta Rangers, move joint 12th with Nakumatt on 29 points.

Nakumatt settled for a 2-2 draw against Gor Mahia on Saturday.

Kariobangi Sharks XI: Gad Mathews, Pascal Ogweno, Geoffrey Shiveka, Bolton Omwenga, Michael Bodo, Patilah Omoto, Sven Yidah, Harrison Mwendwa, Henry Juma, Duke Abuya and Eric Kapaito.
