The Amakhosi legend has heaped praise on the Zimbabwean attacker, but believes he won't help Chiefs beat Sundowns

Former Kaizer Chiefs attacker Teenage Dladla says Khama Billiat will do well in the famous number 11 jersey at the club, but he doesn't think he will shine at the expense of Mamelodi Sundowns.

The man who brought many trophies to the Glamour Boys in the 1980's is now working for the Brazilians and has backed Billiat to shine in his former jersey.

Dladla was speaking as the Zimbabwean striker is expected to lead Amakhosi against Sundowns on Saturday afternoon.

“I would have also given it (the No.11 jersey) to him because I know he will do justice to it. Khama is something special, he is a very good player,” Dladla told IOL.

“Look, I think he will do wonders for Chiefs just like he did here at Sundowns. You just need to look at what happened in that Shell Cup,” he continued.

“Chiefs lost the game (against Sundowns) but he still won the man of the match award. That tells you just how special a player he is because it is rare, generally the man of the match goes to the winning team,” said the legend.

“Trust me, Khama will do well at Chiefs, but not against us (Sundowns),” he concluded.

Apart from Billiat, the jersey was also worn by the likes of Jabu Mahlangu, Abia Nale and Knowledge Musona, but Billiat is the man expected to turn the club's fortunes around.

Moreover, Amakhosi are under immense pressure to end their trophyless drought they suffered under former coach Steve Komphela's three-year reign.

On the other hand, the Soweto giants have received a massive boost with coach Solinas set to be on the bench for the first time as Chiefs' mentor.
