Record Tanzanian champions Yanga are preparing to raid Gor Mahia for three key players.
Yanga, who have clinched 27 league titles, are eying George Odhiambo, Ugandan defender Godfrey Walusimbi and Rwandan striker Meddie Kagere.
Yanga have confirmed that contacts have been made with Gor Mahia and the duo will link up with the Jangwani-based club as soon as the deal is sealed.
“The leadership of Yanga is in talks with Gor Mahia over George (Odhiambo), Walusimbi (Godfrey) and Kagere (Meddie) to join the team. If the talks are successful, the players will join the squad as soon as possible,” Yanga said.
If the deal goes through for both players, Odhiambo will be returning to Tanzania Premier League for a second stint having turned out for Azam between 2012 and 2013 before he moved to Shirak and Ulisses in Armenia then back to Gor Mahia in 2014.
Yanga are also said to be interested in AFC Leopards midfielder Whyvonne Isuza amidst reports that the club is ‘broke’.
