According to reports, Masandawana are back in the hunt for the Black Stars goalkeeper

With Wayne Sandilands’ departure from Mamelodi Sundowns confirmed, Masandawana are believed to be in the market for a new goalkeeper ahead of the 2017/2018 Premier Soccer League campaign.

According to the latest reports, Sundowns have revived their interest in Ghanaian goalkeeper Richard Ofori.

The 23-year-old who is currently on the books of Ghanaian Premier League side Wa All Stars, has been linked with a move to Chloorkop since the completion of the 2017 Africa Cup of Nations, but a move has failed to materialise.

However, all indications are that Sundowns could finally have their man with Sundowns reportedly negotiating a move for the Ghanaian international.

If a move is to materialise there has also been suggestions that Sundowns may decide to loan him out due to their foreign quota already filled.

Sundowns currently have five foreign players registered in Leonardo Castro, Ricardo Nascimento, Fares Hachi and the Ivorian duo of Yannick Zakri and Bangaly Soumahoro, and it remains unlikely that Sundowns will make any changes to their foreign quota.

Nevertheless, other reports emanating out of Tshwane suggest that goalkeeper Thela Ngobeni, will be returning to the African champions.

The 28-year-old spent the 2016/2017 PSL season on loan at Free State Stars and his impressive displays over the season has subsequently led to a recall by Pitso Mosimane, and with Sandilands’ position now vacated, he is expected to be a suitable replacement.
