Sunday Adetunji wants winning debut with Enyimba against Djoliba

Usman Abdullah's men face the Malians in Bamako on Sunday and its new striker is poised to record a winning start.

Enyimba new signing Sunday Adetunji is aiming for a winning debut in Sunday's Caf Confederation Cup clash with Djoliba at the Modibo Keita Stadium, Bamako on Sunday.

The former Abia Warriors talisman joined the seven-time Nigerian kings last week and is expected to make his first appearance for the Usman Abdullah's men against the Malians.

And he is confident the People Elephants will return from Mali with the victory despite being wary of the threat that will be posed by the hosts, who are desperately in search for a win.

"I'm happy joining Enyimba and it's great to step forward for my career," Adetunji told Goal.

"I've been received with opened arms by everyone in the team and already doing my best in training since I arrived. I'm hoping to get a chance to play my first game against Djoliba.

"I promise to make the best of it. I want to develop my game and give my best to win matches for the team. I know it'll be a difficult match but I am confident we can get a good result Bamako.

"I am happy making the squad to Mali and looking forward to ensuring I start my journey with Enyimba on on a winning note. Our morale us high and were determined to do the country proud."
