The Pride of Rivers threw away scoring chances against the Owena Whales and has left the gaffer unhappy after another draw at home

Stanley Eguma feels 'very bad' about his side's poor showing in front of goal following Sunday's drab 0-0 draw with Sunshine Stars at the Yakubu Gowon Stadium.

Prior to the match, the Pride of Rivers were eager to ensure a back-to-back win at home, having recently subdued title holders Plateau United 1-0 on the same ground.

They dominated possessions for the most period of the encounter but a combination of factors plus Moses Ocheje's goalkeeping heroics denied the hosts a win in Port Harcourt.

After his side's fourth draw at home this season, Eguma was left disappointed after his side's failure to make their dominance over Henry Abiodun's men count.

"Everyone could see the number of scoring chances we created in the match," Eguma told media.

"[Just to put] the ball in the net, the players were unable to do that. It is not good for us.

"I feel very bad about it. That the result of the game did not reflect the standard of our play.

"We virtually played in the half of Sunshine Stars throughout the second half and that showed sign of pressure of them but unfortunately we could not convert those chances."

The draw means Rivers United sit in the eighth spot with 33 points, while Sunshine Stars remain in the 19th on the log with 25 points after 23 games.
