Ronaldinho Gaucho picks best career goal but English fans won't be comfortable

Brazilian legend Ronaldinho says the goal he scored against England in 2002 remains his best ever.

The Brazilian star scored a wonderful, flighted goal from a free-kick, which left England keeper David Seaman with no choice and ended the Three Lions's World Cup campaign.

In a one on one interview, Goal put the two-time Fifa World Player of the Year to a tough test of picking his best goal among the multiple he scored for both club and country and the retired attacking midfielder, after a long stair in the ceiling, finally settled for the 35-yard free-kick.

With the game tied one-all, Brazil won a seemingly harmless free-kick after Paul Scholes brought down Kleberson. Ronaldinho, who had just finished his first season in Europe with Paris Saint Germain, then stepped forward.

In front of him was a wall mounted by England and with Seaman about three meters off his line, Gaucho planted the ball right at the far post to hand Brazil the lead and a victory at the games co-hosted by Korea and Japan.

That goal, according to Gaucho remains his favorite of his career. Not even the scissor kick goal for Barcelona against Osasuna in October 2004 nor the 2015 Uefa Champions League goal against Chelsea would come anywhere close.

“I scored some great goals, some over kick goals and from open play in my career and I would admit it is very hard picking my favorite,” Ronaldinho, who is on a three-day tour of Kenya told Goal.com.

“But scoring for the national team and against England in the quarter-finals was quite something. For that reason, I will pick the one against England just because I scored it for Brazil.”
