Gernot Rohr is proud of Odion Ighalo after he responded to his critics with three goals against Libya on Saturday.
The Changchun Yatai striker helped the Super Eagles cruise to a 4-0 win over the north African in the Africa Cup of Nations qualifying clash, with Samuel Kalu added the fourth.
Fuelled by his awe-inspiring performance, the German felt vindicated for maintaining his resolve to stick with the China-based striker.
“I am very happy about the comeback of Ighalo,” Rohr told media.
“This is because he has been really criticised on the social media which I think it was beyond the limit of humanism.
“I am really happy that he is giving the answer on the pitch with goals.”
