We may be yet to reach the halfway stage of the 2016-17 campaign, but attention in some parts is already starting to drift towards next season.

La Liga giants Barcelona have plenty to work towards this term, with a 1-1 Clasico draw with Real Madrid on Saturday leaving them six points adrift of their arch-rivals in the defence of their Spanish crown.

There are also domestic cup prizes to play for and a Champions League crown to wrestle away from the trophy cabinet at Santiago Bernabeu.

Barca are, however, also starting to put the groundwork in place for 2017-18, and that means signing off new kit designs.

The green light has been given for the Nike offerings above to be put into production, with several months of discussions at board level having delivered this end result.

Barca will not be straying too far from the tried and tested with their home shirt design, although they are experimenting with new stripe dimensions.

Away from home, they will be reverting to light blue for their second strip and brown for their third colours.

The designs will also carry the logo of Rakuten for the first time, with the Japanese company replacing Qatar Airways as the club’s title sponsors.
