Reports: Gor Mahia striker Meddie Kagere arrives in Tanzania to seal Simba SC move

Gor Mahia striker Meddie Kagere has reportedly arrived in Tanzania to seal a transfer to Simba SC.

According to Mwanaspoti, the Rwandan star is said to have landed in Dar es Salaam on Monday accompanied with his agent. The player is said to have been booked in one of the top hotels as he awaits to meet the team’s top officials on Tuesday.

Kagere has been in the books of Simba and Tanzania rivals Young African (Yanga) after his impressive performance during the Super Cup tournament. Kagere was the top scorer of the tournament that Gor Mahia won after beating Simba SC 2-0 in the final.

However, Gor Mahia CEO Omondi Aduda has denied any knowledge of the player traveling to Tanzania but insisted that he had instead, requested to travel to his native country to renew passport.

“Honestly speaking I am not aware that Kagere is in Tanzania. He came to me on Sunday and requested for a day off as he intended to travel back home to get the new passport. I am shocked to hear from you that he instead, travelled to Tanzania," Aduda told Goal.

“I will find out tomorrow (Tuesday) and get back to you with a good answer.”
