Red-hot Odemwingie scores in Madura United defeat

The Nigeria international continued his impressive goalscoring run but it was not enough to see his side secure victory against Simon Mcmenemy's men

Peter Odemwingie was on target as Madura United suffered in the hands of Bhayangkara Surabaya United in an Indonesian Liga 1 encounter on Thursday afternoon.

On the stroke of halftime, the former Stoke City forward continued where he left off at the weekend after grabbing the curtain raiser of the game.

Gomes de Olivera's side gave up their lead in the 72nd minute after Alsan Sanda levelled matters. And with seven minutes left in the tie, Ilham Armaivn secured victory for the Patriot Stadium outfit.

The 35-year-old's effort against the Guardian is his 13th in 14 Indonesia topflight games this season for his side.
