The Soweto giants are heading into this Premier Soccer League (PSL) match having defeated SuperSport United 1-0 in the Telkom Knockout Cup quarterfinals.
“We have to keep fighting,” Mphahlele said on the club's official website.
The defender scored a phenomenal goal to help Chiefs beat SuperSport and advance to the Telkom Knockout semi-finals.
“I was definitely going for the goal. I tried the same shot a bit earlier in the game as well, but the ball was deflected via an opponent for a corner," he explained.
"I connected really well with the ball and I immediately felt confident that it would hit the back of the net," he added.
“We knew that we needed to win. I took the shot on purpose, but it was also a moment of madness. It all worked out beautifully," Mphahlele continued.
Mphahlele is looking forward to facing Leopards, who will be seeking revenge over Amakhosi as they eliminated them from the Telkom Knockout last month.
“They like to play and won’t sit back or parking the bus. They also have in Joel Masutha; a good coach. It promises to be an exciting game to watch," he said.
Amakhosi will be looking to move into the top three on the PSL log with a win over Leopards.
“We must bring the same fighting spirit to this clash as we did against SuperSport on Sunday. We must get stuck in," he concluded.
The clash between Chiefs and Leopards will take place at FNB Stadium in Johannesburg.
