Pahang have dispensed off non-performing duo of Alex Moraes and Chan Vathanaka for the remainder of the 2018 season.

The Elephants are the latest club to reveal their cards in terms of transfers and it involves two of their import signings.

Alex Moraes and Chan Vathanaka will be replaced by Issey Nakajima-Farran and Austin Amutu to carry their challenge for the rest of this season.

The decision means that Dollah Salleh has decided that his centre back pairing will continue to be Muslim Ahmad and Afif Amiruddin, making them the only team in the league not to have a import defender.

Moraes has struggled to break the partnership of Muslim and Afif, with the latter duo proving their worth in recent months, in particular that FA Cup triumph over Johor Darul Ta'zim.

As for Vathanaka, he becomes the second Cambodian player to be cut in this window after his national team mate Keo Sokpheng's similar fate with PKNP FC.

Pahang will still use Safuwan Baharudin in the ASEAN slot, therefore Issey will fill the Asian slot. The striker has played a prominent role with Terengganu in past seasons and is a proven goalscorer in Malaysian leagues.

Meanwhile Amutu returns to Malaysian football after two years away. He had previously played one season here with Kelantan back in 2015 season.

The Nigerian is a 25-year-old striker who had spent some time with Yeni Malatyaspor in the Turkish First Division in between his time here in Malaysia.

It is quite obvious that attack is the area where Dollah thinks his team need reinforcement and now has done so with these two new recruits.

Pahang are currently third in the Super League and will next face Issey's former team, Terengganu on May 11.
