Free State Stars defender Bokang Tlhone has reportedly attracted interest from Orlando Pirates ahead of the July-August Transfer Window.

The 26-year-old left-back has been one of Ea Lla Koto's most consistent players in the last few PSL seasons.

As a result, Bidvest Wits moved swiftly to sign him on a pre-contract during 2016/17 mid-season break.

Recent reports have disclosed that Pirates are interested in Tlhone, who made 24 league appearances for Stars this past season.

The Buccaneers are said to be prepared to offer Patrick Phungwayo to Wits in a swap deal which would see Tlhone joining Pirates.

Phungwayo, who is also a left-back, has failed to establish himself at Pirates since moving to the Soweto giants from Wits in 2012.

Meanwhile, Mamelodi Sundowns have reportedly joined Pirates in the race for Ajax Cape Town defender Mosa Lebusa.

The 24-year-old player was linked with the Buccaneers last month and the Brazilians have reportedly renewed their interest in the versatile defender.

It remains to be seen whether the two clubs will bid for Lebusa, who is still contracted to the Urban Warriors until 2019.
