The lanky striker has been sidelined for a month now after being suspended by the Rise and Shine management following allegations of misconduct.
This was after Mncwango, who netted 13 goals in the Premier Soccer League (PSL) last season, made comments about Pirates being after his signature.
An impeccable source within the Rise and Shine camp has revealed that the Buccaneers are ready to pounce on the frontman as soon as he becomes available.
"Well, Thobani is still waiting to hear from the management and he has not been training with the team for some time now," the source told Goal.
"Pirates still want him. But the (Polokwane) management are not happy with how Thobani carried himself upon hearing of interest from Pirates," the source continued.
"They (Pirates) are just waiting for the right time to make a move for the player which could be at the end of the season or if the club decides to terminate his contract," the source concluded.
Mncwango, who is a former Baroka FC striker, is still contracted to Rise and Shine until 2018 having signed an extension last year.
