Austin Oladapo hails the resilience of Gombe United in their 1-0 victory over Kano Pillars on Sunday.

Ibrahim Abdullahi’s second half strike helped the Savannah Scorpions to a win over Sai Masu Gida.

“The victory was very important to our determination to stay in the league at the end of the season. The boys did everyone proud by coming all out and playing with everything they've got. We knew before the start of the game that we were in a must win situation and it was no surprise everyone in the team kept on pushing very hard from the beginning till the end,” Oladapo told Goal.

“I was not able to play the game and I called our coach (Manu Garba) that I won’t be able to make it. He gave me the go ahead but I made sure I was at the stadium to cheer my teammates to victory.

“This win will give us a big push to approach our remaining matches with the self belief that we can still nick our place in the topflight next season. It will be difficult but it is not a loss cause. We need to be determined the way we were against Pillars to achieve our target,” he concluded.
