Nzoia Sugar confident despite AFC Leopards defeat

Nzoia Sugar head coach Bernard Mwalala feels his team is capable of competing with the big boys in the Kenyan Premier League.

After a good start in the top tier where they collected four points from the initial two matches, the newbies fell 2-1 to AFC Leopards last weekend. Despite that, head coach Mwalala is happy with his charges who he says played well.

"Honestly speaking, majority of my players have never played in such a high intensity match like the one we played against AFC Leopards. We played well, and I am happy with the way the team responded. Though we were a little bit unfortunate not to get something from the match, the team has proved a point.

"The message is clear, we have what it takes to play in the top tier, and we will definitely be competitive," he told Goal.

Nzoia Sugar will play against Kariobangi Sharks in their next fixture.
