Three opening matches of the 2017 NSL were played on Saturday

The 2017 National Super League kicked off in style as three matches were played in different venues on Saturday.

A total of nine goals were scored with the biggest winners being Nakuru All Stars who downed debutants Kibera All Stars 3-0 at Afraha Stadium. The home team scored through Japheth Makanji and Anthony Ng'ang'a, who scored a brace.

Makanji put the home side into the lead in the 35th minute, heading in an Anthony Ng'ang'a free-kick with the latter scoring the second from the spot after his cross was handled in the box thereby taking a 2-0 lead to the break. 

At Camp Toyoyo, promoted Administration Police FC went past Bidco United with ease as they emerged 3-1 winners. The Police side started the match well and went ahead early through Nicodemus Asumwa, before Benjamin Kahindi made it two. Asumwa completed his brace later on with Bidco getting the consolation through Mohammed Hassan.

Elsewhere, hosts Agrochemicals came from a goal down to force a draw against Police FC at Furaha Academy grounds. It was Douglous Wamalwa who scored first for the visitors, but Emmanuel Kapchanga ensured the spoils are shared after scoring from the spot.

Meanwhile, the opening match between Modern Coast Rangers and Nairobi City Stars, which was to be played tomorrow (Sunday) at Mbaraki Stadium, has been postponed. The match was scheduled for KPA leaving three matches for the day.
