Sow made his international bow in August 2009 against Congo and recorded his first goal in a 4-0 victory over Democratic Republic of Congo in September 2010.
And during the 32-year-old's nine-year stint with the Teranga Lions, he went on to make 50 caps with 19 goals to his name. Unfortunately, he didn’t lift a trophy in his time with the national team.
The Shabab Al Ahli forward has shown a heart of gratitude to Aliou Cisse’s side, and also expressed his pride in putting on the country’s jersey.
“I want to thank all the Senegalese leaders, all the staffs that I knew and especially all the Senegalese people,” Sow wrote on his Instagram page.
“It was a pleasure and a joy huge to have worn the jersey of the national team and I would always be there to accompany the Lions. Thank you all for your messages."
