Midenyo paid special tribute to Wazito forwards in his goodbye message

Wazito FC coach George Midenyo has quit the club, barely two weeks after former head coach Frank Ouna exited the club.

Wazito had a turbulent season that contributed to their relegation to the National Super League after they fished second from the bottom last campaign.

Midenyo, who joined Wazito two years ago, as a player before he was promoted to the technical bench, finally threw in the towel as he ‘runs away’ from the ‘uncomfortable and stressful moments’ at the club.

“Lovely two years it was. I enjoyed every moment, though sometimes it was rough, sad, uncomfortable and stressing, we still fought as Wazito family,” he said on his Facebook page.

In his goodbye message, Midenyo paid special tribute to Wazito forwards who he said ‘made me proud’: “Special thanks to the players, especially the attackers. Thanks a lot for your respect, hard work and attitude. “Your attention which earned us/you lovely goals really made/make me proud.

“Even though our paths are being separated, I am grateful. I learned a lot from you guys and the team as well.”

It is not yet clear where Midenyo could be headed to though Ouna has since joined newly promoted KCB as the head of the technical bench.
